Pav Bhaji Preparation Time : 15 min Cooking Time : 30 min
Ingredients
3 Tomatoes finely chopped,1/2 cup Peas shelled,2 Carrots, peeled and chopped,8-10 French beans finely chopped, peeled chopped garlic, ginger grated ,I/2 Cauliflower,3 small Potatoes, 2 medium onions finely chopped, 1 capsicum finely sliced, 1tsp. Pavbhaji masala,1/4 tsp. Garam masala,1/4 tsp. Turmeric powder,1/4 tsp. Dhania powder,1/2 tsp. Chilli powder,Salt to taste, Lemon juice to taste,2 tbsp. Butter 1 tbsp. Oil, Cheese (optional)
Fresh baked bread( pavs) (plain bread) or rolls.
Method
1Pressure cook all vegetables (cauliflower, potatoes carrots, peas, beans) together with a little water, till they are overcooked, Drain water, keep aside. 2Mashed drain vegetables to a mush. 3Heat oil. Add chopped onions, ginger, garlic, capsicum and tomatoes and cook till very soft and mushy. 4Add all masalas, salt, butter, and stir. 5Add mashed vegetables and 1 cup of saved water, and cook while stirring.. 6Simmer on low, till the bhaji is thick and oil separates. 7Add lemon juice, stir. 8Garnish with chopped coriander, blobs of butter, and cheese (optional).
Serve hot with,hot buttered pav breads,or plain rolls,(buttered toasted) and a little salad.
